(10 MINUTES)
Take time with your family to discuss these questions (or variations of these questions) together, and reflect on this week’s truth and Word.
1. Question: What did Jesus tell his disciples was the reason he came? What was Jesus doing on the mountain? Why do you think Jesus focuses so much on himself when he taught?
Takeaway: Jesus came to preach the good news, and his message focused on himself as Lord and Savior.
2. Question: Where was Moses when he gave the Ten Commandments? Where was Jesus when he gave the Sermon on the Mount? What were some commands Jesus gave in the Sermon on the Mount?
Takeaway: Jesus, like Moses, gave God’s law to God’s people on a mountain.
3. Question: How did Moses and the prophets know what God wanted them to say to the people? What was different when Jesus spoke God’s word? Why did Jesus not need God to tell him what to say?
Takeaway: Unlike Moses and the prophets, when Jesus preached, he spoke God’s word directly and with authority.

As your family reflects on the truths you learned in this week’s lesson, pray together.
Here are some questions to get you started...
- What did I learn about God that I can praise Him for?
- What sins and weaknesses can I confess to God?
- What promises can I thank God for?
